All you guys cant say that you hate raptors or any other quad you own. I mean i was so happy that i got it and ive been like riding every weekend. and go to glamis like 15 time over the season. Tell me that you like your quad, i know you all have a dream of the perfect quad you would like to own, and mine is my raptor.
I truly LOVE yamaha, thats why I own 5 of them!!! Definately my favorite out of the 5 is my YZ285F!!! I have more fun on that bike than any of the others!! Though the rest are my absolute favorites too lol! If I could keep only 1, the 285F would be the one I kept without any question! Originally posted by: 7540875048

its cool to be brand loyal but after reading this thread you should see that just as many rappy owners call them craptors as honda kawi etc.etc learn to take a joke and be happy and ride

More Raptor owners call their quad a Craptor than owners of any other models, and this is because its true and you can blame yami for this one 100%.
The warrior may not be the fastest quad around nor the best handing but you dont see anyone who owns one bashing it like the raptor owners do theirs. As stated earlier nothing is perfect and I will add that many of the problems are from maint and abuse, but we can accept these things when they are the cause and not faulty engineering from the mfg.
I think much of the anger about the raptor has everything to do with selling your old quad to buy the biggest baddest new one (just what the raptor was billed as originally) and finding it was not what you were expecting beyond the power, and spends most of its time broken down. Then when you go to pick up your brand new disapointment from being repaired at the dealer they hand you a bill for the work. I know too well how this BS went down and why it is this way, and its all about yami's greed.
The previous owner of my Ex sold to move to a new 02 Craptor that we have modded out about as much as you can except for a big bore and any real expensive shocks or front end and it does rip real well but every time he gets to take a run on what his old quad has become he knows and admits that he made a mistake and was "fooled" by yami.
If you dont believe me maybe the fact it is for sale (cheap also) and the owner is going back to dirt bikes would help you absorb the truth.
Before you yami or raptor loyalists attack me or make a spectacle of yourselves understand I own a yami worrior and like to ride it and the craptor as well, and there both great trail quads (sorry guys no dunes to race up here, and we have turns and even some bumps lol) and the raptor is to me no more than a more powerfull better suspended version of the warrior with a lot more hype and better marketing.
The YFZ on the other hand is a whole other story and I have applauded yami many times on their accomplishment with this quad. They still have much work to do on this model also but this is by far their best effort and results (funny how they work hand in hand LOL) to date in a overall package on a quad.
And if you (no one inparticular) are upset with anything you just read please dont take your anger with yami for "fooling" you on the raptor out on me.

You know I just read this again and it still makes sense to me LOL
I also dont see it that there was any flames or attacks there at all, and nothing but what I have seen first hand and experienced etc. Its a fair explanation of why I think the "craptor" name is so popular among raptor owners and why other models are more respected by their owners etc.
The owner of the raptor I was talking about is moving back to bikes mostly due to the better suspensions and additional power (the fact that the factories put "more" into them doesnt hurt either) and his experience with the raptor was just enough to push him past that point etc. Sure he must have been thinking about it and who wouldnt with all the $$$ we need to pump into our quads to make them what they should have been stk.
The members who just keep saying basically shut up and ride have a valid point, but these threads when read for that there worth and you ignore the loyalty BS is how some people actually decide what to ride.
I think we all knew when we entered a thread with this title that we were in for some BS and lots of opinions, so lets not act surprized or shocked that we got what we anticipated.
In the end I guess its all good, as long as your machine is running.
