Default electrical question

Well I road my 300ex a lot today and decided to change bulbs in my head light since it was dim. So i let it sit for a few mins and hosed off most of the mud. After that I decided to take off my headlight to change bulbs. So I undid my wiring and pulled all the connections, and changed it and put it back togther. So I hooked all the wiring up and went to start it. It wouldnt start, i know my batterys good because my light goes on and i cant get it out of netruel. The netrual light is on all the time.

Anyone have any clue what happend?

Hosing off the mud might be a clue, you may have gotten something wet that likes to be dry. Also, check to be sure all the connections are in the right place and tight inside the headlight. You said the light was dim? Usually a bulb just burns out, doesn't get dim at all, it might be a charging problem and the battery doesn't have enough left to start the engine.

i forgot to take it out of reverse, and i had the 2 wires hooked up backwords since its like pitched black outside, so netruel was really reverse light if you get what i mean

anyways i saw that the body looks cooler without the headlight, has anyone tooken there headlights off? is it smart? I may take mine off and wire up track light type things under the fenders.

So let me get this straight, you are going to take your headlights off and mount them under the fenders where they will get hit by rocks and be drenched in water and mud. Just how long do you think they might last?AKBoy.

The thing is i dont do many rocky trails around here, and my plan was to fabricate mounts for them shave holes in the fenders and put my lights through there and make a skid type plate for below them.
Around here its mainly just foresty trails, and some tracks which im not to worried about getting my lights cracked there.
