Default New ATV Rider

I'm sixty years old and just purchased a new Honda AT. I rode Honda dirt bikes when much younger but have no experience on an atv. I bought this new machine without ever riding one since there was no opportunity for a test drive. Anything I should know about the Honda AT. I will mainly use the vehicle for leisure riding and to pull a small trailer with firewood. It's snowy at my cabin at present and I'm wondering if I need taller tires. Any comments or hints to a new rider would be appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on the new Honda !! If there's a lot of snow you may be waiting til spring. Anything close to a foot of snow and it's tough to get anywhere without fighting it all the way.

Congratulations on your new ride!

I'm in the process of purchasing a new AT myself. Would you mind sharing what you ended up paying (Out The Door price) for her and what state you purchased in? I'm noticing prices all over the boards for this machine in my neck of the woods, I have finally got it narrowed down to a figure I can live with but I have to drive a bit to get it, oh well.

Good luck with it and have fun!

$6300 out the door including a four year warranty. Don't know if this is a good price but there seemed to be little interest in negotating here in the Phoenix area. Good luck in your hunt!

I think that it is awesome that you are just getting into quads. The 400 AT should be great for you. The only advice I would give being that you used to ride motorcycles is not to over-estimate the stability of a quad. If you ride on any off-camber or side hills make sure to lean up hill.

Enjoy the bike.

Thanks for the tip, I'm sure there will be a learning curve.
