Honda Discussions about Honda ATVs.

OK! No one wants any of the SP500. How about I run stock against any modified HONDA in the Mud.

This guys is really obsessed!

Didn't we see this song & dance on a previous post from this guy?

Like someone already posted, why don't you go challenge some of the highlifter boys down in Louisanna. They are closer to you. Maybe you the one thats scared!

Yeah, Well if Polaris quads are so great how come my friends sportsman will hardly ever run and our Yamaha Grizzly which I might add was bought the same year hasn't even broken one thing yet at 4400 km's well there is a mystery oh and the Polaris has less kilometers, oh and he has put a new starter into it and his rear shock broke. Oh and by the way I think mud riding sucks gimme a motocross track over that gunk anyday. Oh and my Griz totally beats the #rap out of him when we're going up the road because his is gutless!

Your quad, stock, vs a Honda quad, moded.. Lets see.. What if a guy with a completly suped Rubi (I mean with a custom front end that is true 4x4, I have seen it!) with big vamps and a moded engine that is like 900 cc's challenges ya? Then you go down! You should make some rules before you open your mouth!
This guy that lives by me who used to race corvettes just moded his new rubi to 1200cc's with a true front end.. Dont ask me how because I have no clue, but I have seen this guy go through mud that a 4x4 1 ton ford truck got stuck in when trying to pull out a wolverine that got stuck. We tried to hook a 2 inch tow strap first, but it BROKE IT. This wolverine was submerged, poor guy got mud in every part on his quad..

Sorry about spelling errors, im rushing to go to florida! Seeya all in 3 weeks!

As far as challenging Highlifter, there is only one bike they have that will mud as well as mine and it is the Big Dog SP500. I know some of those guys over there and they are fun to ride with. Jeff has told me that the Big Dog has not been very reliable though. If you ride any bike through some of the stuff we ride in, you are going to have problems occasionally.

(Even a Honda)

I had hoped a local rider with a Rubicon or a 450ES would want to race. If you don't think this would be a fun comparison, then you don't have to reply. I know most of you are not from East Texas and have no clue what kind of terrain we have here. The trails are usually in thick woods so you have to follow each other. This causes deep ruts to form eventually. This is where the independent suspension really makes a difference. You can have the most powerful motor and transmission but if your rear axel is high centered, you are stuck.

I agree about any atv that is run hard will have problems from time to time and especially the moded out ones with the huge tires and lift kits, those are hard on ATV's. Mods help an ATV but driver skill and luck play a big part also.

There is always one in every group. It only takes one person to start a bashing session. In this case and most cases it seems to be this greg guy who is always on the Honda forum where I am sure most of us don't want him to be. He has no respect for other people and doesn't seem to be able to carry on an intelligent conversation about any topic. There is always a put down in any conversation he is in. Maybe he yells the loudest because he actually feels inferior and is trying to cover his feelings of inferiorty up. Maybe he is the best rider the world has ever seen. Just ask him I'm sure he will be glad to tell you. People like this don't need to be on any forum.
He's just a pest.
I could care less who's machine is bigger, faster, better in the mud, on trails etc. I know the atv I own does what I ask of it and more and that I am happy with it. If I am riding and happen to get stuck I would appreciate anyone helping me out no matter what brand of atv he/she is riding. The whole idea is to have fun.
Greg, have you ever been taught the meaning of the word respect?

Uncle Fester makes a good point. Mudding is the Sportsman's only claim to fame, along with smooth ride. They are a nice bike but with every pro comes a con. The front end wants to come up on hills. They have a higher center of gravity. My friends is a hell of a mudder but he's afraid to go up any STEEP hills and bad rutted slants. His will out mud mine and mine will out run his, it's all tradeoffs. I demand more from an atv than just mudding.

This may seem silly but I thought I'd cruise over to the Polaris forum and see what kind of crap the guy stirs up with his peers. Well as I suspected, he's the same name calling jerk there. Get outa here Greg, leave don't come back. You have nothing to offer.
------------Polaris-----------
I would take a 1997 SP500 that needs $12 u-joints once a year over any solid axel log wagon riding Honda with rusted out drum brakes that don't work.
If you want to know why some people buy Polaris over honda knowing that there will be more maintenance, you either haven't spent much time on a SP500 or you have little girly fingers and can not work on your own bike. From how you talk to me, I would guess you have little girly fingers.

Regardless of what is said on these forums, there is no drum brake that will continue to operate for long periods of time after being in alot of water and mud, unless someone more knowledgable than you tells you how to do it.

I also have seen many late model Foremans brake rear u-joints. Some with very very expensive consequences. If you ride any bike as hard as some of us do in East Texas, they will all break occasionally. The Hondas are also know to have electrical problems.

I am sure this didn't answer your question. Ride with me sometime and you will understand.

Greg
