'03 400EX Cold start?
#1
I'm new to owning this bike and in Canada the weather as we all know it sucks, whats the proper way to start this bike as it seems to take a lot of cranking before it fires ( about 3 minuites off and on cranking) summer time is ok but I'm talking about 10 degrees celcius and less.

If its easy to get to the snorkle, try to cover it with your hand, while starting. That will work like a real choke, and they fire right up. I do this on my quads in the winter, and it works wonders.
Im not sure how easy it is to do, on the ex.
Try going a 1/2 turn out on the mixture screw too, thatll richen the idle circuit.
