Default Rubicon not as it was

My 2002 Honda rubicon is stock compleatly, and has 1300mi on it.

it just doent seem to have the power it had when it was stock, for example under heavy load it will stall, and it just does not have that get up and go, now i know many might say you got used to the power.

but when i dragged my vinson against the rubicon stock for stock, the vinson was faster no biggie.

granted i have all the parts on mine now, i drag the rubicon and just demolish it, like he is startin out in 3rd, or the transmissions clutch is not engageing, the reason i say that is because in D1 the thing winds out and then you have to let off the gass, then punch it again in order for the motor to get within the sutable rev range. any suggestions why the thing feels so powerless?

I would start with an oil pressure test. Should be cheap and easy at any Honda dealer. Oil pump relief valve problems aren't unheard of in Rubicons. It will never shift right without proper oil psi, and this possibility can be eliminated easily. You might try engine braking down a hill too, it shouldn't freewheel, at all. If it does, your centrifugal clutch could be slipping.

come to think of it, it really does not to seem to have that much brakein from the motor, compared my vinson, and a sportsman 500 h.o cvt.

i will get that test done, oh yea one more thing guys. the thing blows blue smoke for 3-5mins when cold?? 1200mi, thats no right, someone told me mabey you got a lemon, that blows if this is so.

and as far as the oil, i have changed it religiously, along with the filter, so no opp error on my part.

nah suspriseingly my bros sp 500 h.o , with all the apearance add ons + a hl lift kit, k&n, and 28" zillas is a pretty reliable bike(after 100000000 belts)-problem rendered with a heelclicker clutch kit(this thing is great many miles and a year same belt).

some of you may be able to tell i am not the biggest fan of honda, purely on my experiance with them, if my zuki had this many querks then i would probley be shoping around, rubicon is my plow vehicle, and occasional trail rider.

mabey i should sell it and buy a 2004 limited edition vinson, or keep my vinny, buy a 2005 king quad, and make myself depart from the rubicon.

I like zuki but think honda is the most reliable. They overbuild their machines to under perform and last a lifetime. The rubi was a radical (for honda) change, and needed some kinks worked out. Usually Honda does that before they release a machine.
