I made a post earlier today anbout cleaning my uni filter.I took it off and felt inside the airbox boot only to find it full of dirt and junk.I pulled off the gas tank, snorkel, carb. Then I pull off the airbox. Then the airbox boot came out.I used soap and water to clean my filter. It looks brand new very clean suprised me how clean it came.then I oiled up the filter nice and goey. Then I used carb cleaner to clean the air box and air box boot out I got those perfectly clean to.I was just wondering if guys think I should switch to a K&N filter and outerwear????Alot of people have told me to but I thought my uni was getting the job done.WRONG.I have to rejet anyway so why not but I just wanted to know if anyone else had this prob with uni.

I have not had any problem with my uni filter. Make sure to put grease around filter rubber mount. I clean mine with dawn dish detergent, rinse it good and blow out with air hose then re-oil it.It helps to use rubber gloves also.

If you are saying you have dirt in your boot you better pull that carb off and clean it... YOu better check you motor side boot also to see if durt is in the motor, then it is time to get that topend done... I use a K&N and it works great, dunein trailin etc...
