Default 2002 Rancher foot brake

I was hauling azz down a dirt driveway when my friends dog ran out in front of me. I had to stomp on the foot brake to stop...Now the problem is it will not release after I press it down. The hand brake works and the foot woorks too. But if the foot pedal goes down I have to get my foot underneath it and pull it back up.
How can I fix this?
I tried to lube all of the cables and tighten and loosen the tension but no go...any one?????

try adjusting the the rear brake. its the two cable int he back right by the rear drum. one wire is for the hand bake adjustment and the other for the foot brake adjustment. mabye u got your brake tightened to much. what im sayin is mabye yur brakes are draging just a bit to much. just remember if u go to the back drum and adjust one wire, say the front brake, it will afrct the rear also because the rear drum break is machanical.

start lubing the shaft at the back of the foot peddle, you are getting rust in there and it is making it stiff, just don't let it go for too long or it will seize and it will be twice as hard to get loose again, belive me it has happened a few times, just start spraying wd-40 or something stronger around the washer and on the side next to the frame move the peddle up and down a few times spray it some more then go riding or what ever and the next day do it again for a few days and eventualy it will totaly free up and be good as new
