in mx they do a good job at keeping other riders tires out. I constantly see people with out nerf bars getting other tires jammed in there, which leads to cart wheels.

Also keeps you from running your leg over if you miss the peg coming off a jump.

I use them to richochet from tree to tree in the tight stuff. Another great way to break the rear loose carving throught the trees.

Also a great way to break a nerf bar too at times.

I wont run a quad w/o nerfs (cept my banshee ), my 300ex and 450r have them, in fact i just got som AC's in for it yesterday, but the 450r is getting an hrc kit installed . last friday when i was at a friends MX track, i got my leg tangled up with my tire and footpeg, this wouldnt have happened with nerfs. like mentioned, they are good for keeping people from getting yours & their tires from tangling and most of the time they keep sticks from trails from popping up and nailing you in the leg. you cant go wrong with nerf bars.

i like them when your on a steep hillside going across it, and you start to slide down it sideways, its a major pain to pull the quad uphill to unhook it from a tree...plus when your on a nice flat trail, you can recline back and put your feet on them hahahaha

I use my nerf bars a lot when i am trying to take a tight corner at a faster speed... you can lean all your weight to one side of your quad more easily if you have nerf bars. Also, when you are doing a lot of jumping, they are helpful so that you can just land with your feet resting on the nerf bars.. I have ridden quads without nerf bars on them and i cant stand it because when i am just chilling at a stop on my raptor it is nice to be able to rest your feet somewhere.
