Default quick rincon needle question.

There are two spacers on the stock rincon needle, a smaller one and a larger one. Which order do they go on the needle? I dropped the needle when I was pulling it out so I am not sure!! I think the smallest goes on first but I am not positive. Thanks for the help.

I think both of the little flat washers go together and slip up on the needle from the bottom. It's been so long since I had mine apart I am not sure. Maybe someone else will chime in.

any idea which order or if it matters. One is bigger than the other. I was looking at some of the marks on them and it almost looks like the bigger one goes on first.

I do remember them being different sizes but when I reinstalled them on the new needle, I don't think I put them in any order. I would look at the jet where they will ride and see if the larger one would need to rest on it to keep it out of the jet. The smaller one might drop into the jet opening to far. I really don't think you will go wrong either way. Now that I got to thinking about it, I remember I dropped one into the carb and could not find it and bought a 3mm flat washer at a hardware store to replace it. Just a thought. Oh yeah, use some grease to hold them in place when you put it back together to avoid dropping them into the card like I did.

Duramax,
Did you install a K&N filter? If so, did you have to modify the airbox (cut down the ridges in the back or on the lid) to get it to fit right? It seems like it sticks up about 1/4 inch to high in the back.

Yes, I did. I used a grinder and cut some of it out in order to get it to fit down in the box.

Bozeman! The smaller washer sits on top of the larger washer. In other words: slide the needle through the small washer first and the larger washer last. The service manual refers to the larger of the two as a washer and the smaller one as a shim, for what it's worth. My K&N went in with no trimming or grinding, although it was a tight fit. Try slideing the filter into the snorkle and while forceing it forward, ( towards the front of the quad), push it down at the same time.
