I just put a fresh top end on my R and during the break in process it turned off. Now, it has compression it has a spark and its getting fuel. We swapped coils thinking it might have a weak spark and no thats not it. I cleaned the inside of the stator and cleaned the coils and no thats not it. I went through all the wiring and its all hooked up correctly. Now im wondering, if my CDI is somehow bad will this keep it from starting? Also I noticed it was running rich while I was breaking it in (went through 2 spark plugs in 2 10-15minute rides) if its extremely rich will this keep it from starting? We tried pulling it and it doesnt even try to start. My fog lights wont even flicker while im pulling it. Whats goin on here????

You say it has compression....how much, if its on the low side, itll be a bear to get running. If you have spark, the cdi is good. What were the circumstances of it turning off? Being extremly rich, could interfer with starting, but pulling it, would overcome that.

I was riding it and all of a sudden it would bog as if my plug was starting to foul. It did this 3 times and turned off. I tried 4 new NGK's hoping they were all defective but that wasnt the case. The compression is still on the good side. It feels as hard as when I first got it. I tried with it again today but no luck. IM STUMPED!

You can still get spark from the cdi if it is bad. It just sends the spark at the wrong time. The cdi box pulses at a certain rate. Th cdi box on my snowmobile went and it would still run but would bog ALOT. So I replaced the cdi and it runs great.

I think Hondabuster is on it. It sounds like it is flooded to me. How does the plug look like after you kick it over? Does it look super wet? I would pull the plug and tow it around the block with the throttle wide open and then pop a new plug back in and see what happens? Could be wrong on this one though?
