200X carb on 83 200S

I just bought a 200x carb for my 200S the problem I see with making it work being the top cap is bigger,is the top cap that came with the 200X carb looks like it has slip fitting for the throttle cable where my 200S has a screw in fitting. Anyone have any suggestions. Also I noticed the X carb has a long jet where all jets I have are the short kind are they interchangeable to anyones knowledge. Also should I run the 105 jet I am using or will I need to experiment with jet sizes as per the carb.

As long as you can get the cable in the hole and SEAL it air tight it should work ok electrical tape and silicone spring to mind not an ideal solution ut cheaper than a new cable.
as for the jets i dont know about the fit but you will definitly need to check the jetting after u change the carb ie do plug chops i assume u know how to do this already seeing as u have spare jets if not let me know.

If the carb will bolt up to the front air boot with out any problems you can try it. the throttle cable should bolt up to your throttle assembly. As for the jets, yes start at 105. the stock jet in a 200X carb is 108 and the X has a more aggressive motor which is capable of more air and fuel, inturn bigger main. SO, start with the 105 and go down. it should be rich just to let you know. i am aware that there are diffrent length jets that will both work in the same carb. if the threads are the same and as long you should have a problem I dont think.
Just a helpfull fact to get you on your way with jetting. If its rich the trike will not rev out, but will break up alot at higher rpm mostly. if it is lean it will "flatin" out and mabey even backfire. if extremely lean it will blow fire out of the pipe everytime it back fires....
