age doesnt matter to me, its all about the attitude. i have nothing against older riders and nothing against younger riders i just like to ride and have fun with anyone. and i do agree there are alot of people my age (14) that are little brats and snobs and think the worlds owes them everything but im not like that and i hope everyone here already knows that.

I really dont mind the older riders. Just be courteous (sp?) and kind to them and they will be kind back to you. Its great to talk to them and ask for advice.

The only thing i dont like is how sometimes Older riders think they can always pass me up and they sometimes taunt me becuase they are 20 and i am 14. But otherwise, all the adult riders around here are fine.

Use the Golden Rule!

Speaking of smartazz kids, I just got back from the track and there was this kid with a CR125 clearing some nice big jumps, only clearing 3 more than i was. I thought he was good on it and he was, but my friends overheard him telling his parents " man those people on quads need to show some respect and stay off the track when us dirtbike riders are on it", that made me SO mad. that piece of crap was getting all mad about me and my friend being on the track and we werent holding him back one bit from what he was doing. Once before i left, i got right infront of him and was riding slow and he wouldnt pass me, until he went around the whoops when i was still on them. I wouldnt have done that if he hadnt added that smartellic comment about my friend and i and quads.

I fall into the older group but really there are bad in both. I have noticed the younger ones can't find spellcheck. Hard enough for a guy that needs glasses to read, now I have to decipher. We were at a park this weekend that had a mix of every age, quads and bikes. Everyone seemed to get along, slower people moved over, faster ones took a different trail. Made for a good weekend.

I always thought younger riders meant like under 35.

I do notice that many of the younger ones on this forum never (a) learned to spell or (b) are too lazy to care. It's a reflection on your character and intelligence, guys.

Most of the younger riders where I go are pretty good kids; even when they are being disrespectful often they are just too wound up and dumb to know what they are doing, and I do see their buds get ahold of them. Like last weekend at St Anthony, these young guys on dirt bikes several of them ripped up the (5MPH) road from the BLM camp and one of the group jumped all over the others for it.

I like riding with the young guys, most of them my age go too slow

Oh what fun this is. Wait until you teenagers turn 28-30 and someone calls you an old rider.

The big difference in the teenage riders is you don't have a care in the world. Riding is the only thing. Free food, free rent, free bike (mom and dad chip in somewhere), free medical, free education, free phone, no job if your young or lucky enough and someone to tuck you in at night. I've been there I know how it is. You ride wild and fast, getting hurt means your cool with your buddies AND you get to miss school.

"Older" riders I'll call ones with some sort of responsibility (trust fund babies NOT included no matter what the age). If you get hurt you've got to worry about your wife, kids, kids on the way, kids braces, kids college fund, house note, power bill, water bill, phone bill, car payment, money lost from not working. Buy a new $5000 ATV and where's the money coming from. And yes I know under 30 folks who have all the toys. If they're not rich or daddy is paying then they have $50,000 in credit card bills. How smart is that?

Older folks and much older folks (like me at 44) may not ride faster but we do ride smarter. Believe it or not we were teenagers once to. I'm reminded with an ach every moment I'm awake because of 2 right knee surgeries via a very very simple crash while knight racing when I was 19. That knee will probably have to be replaced in the next 10-15 years. Something to look forward to!

Have fun and ride safe!!!
