Larger cc sport quads vs. 450's, ect...questions???
Guys,
I am not a total newbie, but have not been around quads as long as a lot of you. And this topic has for sure been covered before..but how is it that a 450r or even a lesser quad like a modified 400ex or z400 can keep up with and even beat a Raptor or a Kawasaki 700cc sport quad? I have to admit, I have no idea why you would even made a 660 or 700cc if it is no faster than a 400 or 450cc. Is this why Honda has not come out with a quad to compete with a Raptor or Kawasaki 700? This concept is stumping me.

These new 4 stroke ATV engines match or outpower the bigger engines because they are lighter and are designed better.
These better designed engines have bigger or more valves, better porting, higher compression, pistons, stronger ignition etc....
Also, not only are the engines lighter but they have a lightweight frame too.
