What years would be best value and what should I look for?

 

well the only thing thats better on these later modles is that they have a bigger cam and that makes a little power diff but as far as quility they r both abouth same and as in both i mean the newer ones and the older ones hope u join the ex group soon u wont be let down by honda i havnt yet

You might want to think about getting an R.?! Ive ridden a 400 and now i have my 250R, and I have to say that I wouldnt have it any other way. My R handles so good, and the power is outrageous!! But you have to consider mine is a 265, port/polish, longrod stroker on alky [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] next is powervalve [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

99 - 03 are all the same. The only difference was what color plastic you wanted. I believe that they put a bigger carb on it this year. On the Honda web site they list the carb size as 38mm, the carb on my 99 is 35.5mm. It could be a typo tho.

The best value would probably be 01 or 02 with the mods you want already on it.
