Default big red electricity (help)

How do ZI know if I have enough spark. I just purchased a big red and did a top end rebuild I did get it to run however when I tried to restart it would not. I tested the spark on the side it did not seem to be enough. is it possible for the coil to be weak. I rebuilt the carb also do not know if this is the problem as well this red sat for a couple years.

The only way to really know is to use what's called a peak voltage tester. With it, you can do an ignition coil output test directly at the spark plug wire and put a number on it in KVolts. The number would also depend on how fast the engine is turning over.

should run with a weak spark....as long as its not too rich. you said it definatly had spark?? if your not sure, get one of those spark testers....like $10 at advanced auto parts...great little tool...and if you are getting spark, take the supply hose off of the petcock on the fuel tank, make sure it flows ok, and no debris comes out. also, make sure that hose isnt kinked on the way to the carb.....
