12t front sprocket for a TRX90, are they available?
#1
I recently put a bigbore kit in my sons TRX90 and new rear tires, (a little smaller dia.). The quad has a ton of power and tops out too quick now, does anyone know if there is a larger (13t=stock) than stock front sprocket available for the TRX90 and where I can purchase one?
Does anyone know what the top speed difference is, or the formular for figuring the speed change is when changing sprockets? I know I can change the rear from a 50t to a 48t, those are available.
Thanks

I might be reading your question wrong. Are you saying that the quad revs out too fast and has lost top speed? If this is the case then you need to go up a tooth on the front, or drop some in the rear.
One tooth in the front is generally equal to 3 in the back and 1'' on the tire is equal to 1 tooth on the rear sprocket.
When you change a tooth on the front it usually changes the bottom end and top end about 10-15%. For example if you drop a tooth on the front you will gain about 10% bottom end and loose a equal amount on the top end.

It sounds like you want more speed. (top end) AS ShavO said you want to go larger on front. I don't have a trx90 but I went through the same thing with our LT80. I ended up taking our front sprocket off, and going to the parts place where they have a large selection of sprockets. I found out that alot of bikes and quads share the same spline front shaft, so find a sprocket that matches your splines and then the number of teeth you want and your in business. For example, our new front sprocket is for, I think, a CR250. With that in mind, they make almost every tooth front sprocket you could think of for those. Good luck !!!

Bigwave,
Did you ever find a bigger Front sprocket for the TRX90? (14T?) ....If so, what bike was it listed for.
I haven't found a dealer yet that'll give me much help finding one.
Maybe its just me, but I haven't found one googling either
thanks

Nope never did find one, I haven't looked for a while now. If you come up with anything let me know.

Sidewinder should have it. They can make just about any sprocket you would need. Just make sure there is enough space on the engine case for it to fit.

Thanks for the help fellows.
But the boys have moved on they are now riding Yamaha Wolverine 350's. I never did get that sprocket changed but it ran fine as it was.
Thanks everyone.
