Well I already know the answer to this question. Honda kicks ***! But my neighbor seems to think that a kfx400 or z400 could beat a new trx450r! HAHAHA yeah right. What do you guys think about this crazy neighbor of mine?

 

i dont think your neighbor is too crazy. look at Doug Gust, he rides a z400 and beats 450's. Depending on the riding you are doing decides which bike is better. If i were on a woods course i would take the Z.

 

any machine out there can beat the 450r,like thurmonator said it depends on the rider and the conditions..stock 2 stock either 400 will not beat a 450r in a drag race with 2 equal riders..

 

Gust rides a highly modified 440 cc. machine. the 450r that runs in that series I believe is sleeved or destroked to push 440cc.'s also.

 

their is an article on this very subject in the may issue of dirt wheels. they upgraded the z400 engine and suspension, etc. and also some other stuff on the yfz450. turns out that the z400 can be very competitive, just costs much more money to do it. nathan.

 

A modded Z can be pretty fast, and the chassis handles very well. But, the TRX is a fair bit faster, and handles even better.

 

the zuki is bored out to 440, some other mods pipe obviously and suspension...its not that the honda is slow its just that the **** really knows how to ride...

 

Stock for stock I don't see it....

 

Gust's bike is 450cc's, so is the Honda. The yfz is the only 440.

 

We are talking stock for stock... Same experienced rider, same track, trial, whatever. I dont see it happening at all.
