If you want something that is going to last you through high school I would start off right and go with the Honda 400EX.

You would be perfect for it.

If you want to stickwith Honda, which is a great decision, I would suggest nothing less than a 300ex. You can't hop up a 250 ex. If you want to ride it all the way thru high school, I'd go for a 400ex. Plenty of hop up parts available as your experience, and you grow.
My son is 17 and olny 5'5". He rides my 400EX since I got a 450R. He used to ride a Blaster. It is a 200 2 stroke. Would be a good starter ride for you, but you would want to move up in a year or two.
In my opinion skip the 250EX, it is a great quad, don't get me wrong. My wife drives one but now she wants to move up.
It would be a great one for you to learn on, especially if you have younger brothers or sisters, you can pass it on down to them to learn on. Good luck! And welcome to quading

400ex, perfect, sooo easy to ride, comofortable, and kinda powerful in stock form, however, if u want a400, id seriously look at the z/dvx/kfx 400's, they are the same, but nicer looking and all have reverse

If you have a good sensible head on your shoulders I would also vote for the 400EX, it's a good all around quad that will last-- as long as you take proper care of it. ALWAYS where a helmet when you ride and don't try crazy stunts, take it easy at first until you learn the machines personality then you will know what you can and cannot do when riding.....

Get the 300ex or the 400ex you don't get the Suzuki stay with honda there isn't enough years on those quads to test there durability plus the parts are expensive. The hondas have had many years to get all the quirks worked out. Hondas are made in America so the parts are plentiful and fairly inexpensive. Hope this is helpful.
