Can anyone tell me if the front shocks from a 450R will fit a 400EX? If so, will they fit without making any alterations or fabrication?

Yes they will fit and work great! i have done it myself

 

i have been told modifications are required to make them fit perfect.

 

The top of the shock mount is wider than the frame mount. you have to grind it a bit. Some people have said the you would "have" to get ehm revalved, since the weights/geomerty are different. Trust me, they are miles ahead of any other stock shock, even on the wrong quad.
