Default 400ex clutch - hard

my clutch on my 02 400ex is some what hard. I got off of riding my friend KFX400 and my dirtbike and a blaster and they are all easier to pull in than my 400. What should i do/adjust/buy to make it easy like a KFX or something. I adjusted it due to the fact that it was letting out way to far out, i adjusted it by the cable next to the lever. any suggestions would be great. thanks.

mine was hard on my 300ex and finall yone day it broke. here i found out that the cable frayed right by the lever and that made it hard to pull. now i have a new one and it works great.

My 440ex is hard to pull too. Don't think it was this hard when I bought it. Just bought a new cable today. Going to install it soon. Hope this remedies the problem.

Every once in a while, pull in your clutch lever and put a few drops of oil on the cable. Mine was really hard to pull in and as it turns out, it was just cause it wasen't lubed enough... It ended up snapping when I was out on the trail about 35 miles away from camp. Let me tell you this, I figured I could make it back easily with out my clutch. You don't realize how much your really use it on rough hill climbs or when your stuck in the mud.

first of all its a honda jk but on a more serious note maybe you could buy a hydraulic(spelling) clutch system i know they have them for dirtbikes but im not sure about quads thats how my friends yz85 is and a lot of other machines
