Default could i handle it?

well i have been riding since i was 8 starting on my eton 90 then i have had my 300ex for about 3 years now and i think its time to move up to somthing bigger. I consider myself somwhat experienced now. I am 5'8" and 145 pounds. I would like to move up but i am not sure if i should move up to somthing like a 400ex or go all the way to a 450r. I am probobly gonna be getting a new one this summer and selling my other 2. I dont wanna get a 400ex and then outgrow that because im only 15 and still growing. what do you guys think. will i be ready for a 450 or stick with 400?? thanks

it sounds like you are fairly experienced. the 400 ex is a great machine, usuable power, good brakes and suspension, and will definately last longer than most other quads out there. i have a 450r and i am the same height as you and weigh 130 lbs and i am 16 years old. the difference between the two is big. the frame is different, the power difference is night and day, the brakes on the 450r are stronger. but i think you should go with the 450r because you will definately love it and it gives you the most bang for the buck. you will get used to it, just learn the machine before you push the limits and learn your abilities and you will be fine

I went from a 300ex to a banshee, then to a 450r, i think you could handle a 450r with some time.

Just because the power is there doesnt mean that you have to use it. You shouldn't have problems handleing any quad unless it is to heavy for you.

well out of all the quads i have ever rode (including the raptor and yfz) i like the 450r the best. the bottom end feel is strong and the whole powerband is smooth. i also love the sound of the motor. shifting is nice and i haven't missed a gear yet, the suspension is super smooth and soaks up tons. first gear seemed to go forever when i first got my bike but now i like the first gear and it seems great. the brakes are way stronger than any other machine i have drove and will stop you in a hurry. i have no negative things about it so far, just runs hard. all in all it is an awesome machine.
