for one do you really need reverse? honda was thinking smart because reverse is very heavy, i am willing to get off my bike and pull it out.

I like having it so my poor husband doesn't have to get off his quad, come over and strain his back scooting mine around when I get myself stuck in a situation. Now I look for a hill that I can go up a little and roll back down to turn around. But I'd still rather have the reverse since we do a lot of tight trail riding.

I guess you think we shouldn't have handicapped parking spaces either, because they dont' deserve to drive?
It would be a tossup right now for me weather to get the Rap 350 or the 400Ex .. I'd like to have a 400EX for it's power/mod potential and handling, but the reverse is something I value as a trail rider.
Hondarider300: The raptor 350 won't be competition for the Warrior for very long because Yamaha will be discontinuing the Warrior from it's ATV lineup. That's what Yamaha was thinking when they came up with it. Do I like it? No. There were many different things they could have done and still kept the Warrior name and powerplant. But from all I've heard, the Raptor 350 is off to the races in sales, carring on the Warrior tradition for being the best selling atv of all time. Perhaps if it is able to last for 17 years or so, it may just surpass the Warrior in sales
Having said all that, SlimGoody, take a test drive on each. Evaluate and think about what you want out of a quad. Maybe niether of these machines will fit what you really want. As someone else suggested, it may be a good idea to have a look into the Z/KFX/DVX 400's. More power than the 400EX (and certainly the Rap 350), reverse, and according to some, better handling and suspension??

Also Slim .. I just noticed that you recently got a Wolvy .. if you really enjoy the wolvy for power and such then I think you'd be happy with the Raptor 350. Same power plant, better ergos and suspension and a better transmission for getting that power to the ground.
Enjoy whatever you get ...
