My friend has a '97 Banshee w/ Toomey pipes, K&N etc. I'll be on a '99 CBR F4 street bike.
Now I know I'd kill him top speed (obviously), but he thinks since he's got two wheels vs. my one he'll win in a 100-200 yard race. I have 98 horsies to one wheel and I figure he might have 20 or so to each. I can do around 70 in first gear and it gets there quick.
Anyway, I don't know if we'll ever race fro sure, but who do ya think??

no question that you have him. Your bike could probrable do 0-60 in a matter of 4 sec, 6 at most

Yeah, according to Cycle World it's more like 3.2 seconds. If I'm lucky maybe 4, as long as I could keep the front wheel down.

I much more interesting race would be your bike against a large displacement CC sled !

It would be like that toyota commercial with the lotus esprit racing the tundra. Lotus on the street with a easy win until they both hit the offroad track where the lotus spin outs and the tundra just kept right on trucking for the win. Two total different purposes but I bet he can out jump you hands down.

Your friend must have had the dealer do all the mods to the Yamaha. obviously he is not very smart when it comes to machinery. ANYONE that knows anything about street bike and quads, will know there is no chance for him in this race.

Padzz your bike will not do 70 in first gear. I have a 98 Ninja ZX-6R and I know top speed in 1st gear is like 50-55 mph. I also have 500 more rpms to work with than you. Your bike will run 0-60 in 3.3 seconds and no Banshee will do that. Well maybe if it has a 500cc stroker big bore. I find it much easier to punch it on my street bike than my Banshee on the road anyway. If you guys do race you better be sure you do it on a track. 100 mph comes really quick on a sport bike as you know. Cops just love this sort of thing as well as neighbors that love to snoop. Out here they have street drags at a local oval track. They let any type of motorcycle out there. Only requirement is a helmet and jeans gloves jacket and boots. I think I will be out there next time they have the races. Would be fun to run against a Banshee . Let us all know when he chickens out.
