The Blackwaters are a good ''all purpose'' tire.I run the Goodyear Mudrunners on my 99 500cc Sportsman and also my 00 Xplorer 4x4 quads. My brother runs the Super Swamper Vampires on his 97 King Quad.
Both tires are equal in traction in the worst of mud/snow conditions. You will get a huge lift in traction with these tires in the muddy stuff when comparing them to Blackwaters.
The Mudrunners will also make your quad steer easier. There is a new tire out called the OutLaw.It may be worth a try looking at them also.I love the Mudrunners.===Bill

MudRunnrs sound like a good choice, Bill. I don't know how much mud is expected on the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree route, but MudRunners perform well on hardpack and on the rocks as well. My riding partners proved this at Cochranton (mud) and at Quads, On-the-Rocks! and the Little Fort Trail Ride (rocks). One MudRunner-shod rider even went "clean" (no dismounting) through the quarter-mile of boulder-strewn misery along Tasker's Run.
Don't have much observation of Blackwaters, they may be o.k. for the Rocky Mountain Jamboree, also; however, from my observation (my companions even let me ride a MudRunnered quad for awhile), I think MudRunners would do the job.
