2004 rancher
#1
I'm getting ready this tuesday to buy a 2004 350 Rancher ES.I have a few questions one is there more ground clearance on the 03 rancher than the 04 and if so why is it. Ok my real concern is the all time 4x4 is there a kit to covert it to 2x4 then 4x4 when you want also is there some kind of locker you can put in that will let you lock it in lets say in mud then take it back out for trail riding. Thank you vary much

I bought a 2k4 Rancher 350es back in Jan., but opted for the 2wd model.
I have yet to get it stuck somewhere that a 4wd would have made any difference...I have gotten it stuck - but my buddy's 4x4 Foreman got stuck too.
I know this didn't answer your question...but I'm sure you will be happy with your purchase...good luck.
Here is a site that I found when I did a Google search - looks like this would do what you need:
http://www.louisville4x4.com/atv_lockout.htm
not a bad price @ $265.
Hope this helps.

Several weeks ago I purchased two Rancher 350's 4x2's. One was a 2002 and one was a 2003 They had only been used once , both were originally purchased 1 year ago. Even though they are two different years they are the same. These have manual transmissions. I just got back from Silver Lake State park in Michigan. This is the only place in Michigan you can legally ride the dunes. When you talk about not getting stuck very easy you are right. I for the most part I could climb any of the dunes that the various other quads did. With that locked rear end you have both wheels driving all the time. Its a little inconvient to have to shift with your foot but you learn to use it. Did yours have the fans installed when you got it? My came without them, so I bought two 12volt fans from Mejer made a mount for them and bolted the mount to the existing mounts on the atv. I then mounted the 6" fan in the same place the factory one is. The fan has two speeds. You really don't need the fan except for only the miost extreme conditions. It cost me about $17.00 compared to buying the fan kit from Honda for about $285.00. Please let me know about your experiences with your Rancher.--Thanks--MIke
