Ok, here is the story. There is a local guy that weighs about 150lbs wet. He has the 03 DS with the long swingarm. He had never lost a drag race until 2 weeks ago. NO, he has not dragged a 310 250R, a highly modded banshee, a quadzilla or any tricked out YZF's. I had my HRC kit and 13T sprocket on last week and he would get out of the hole about 2 bikes and I would motor around him pretty easily. Well, this guy doesn't like it and got his head ported and cam work done after I raced him. What should I do now? Pipe? Head work?

Well, I have much more wallet, but that is not fun. I guess I will let him get me once and then decide what to do. I just wish the 450R had some REAL head porting or cam data. I knew this going in, I will just have to wait. I know I have the best long-term bike. I just wish there were more mods available NOW. Haha. Maybe i will see if he will RACE me on the track for a couple of months before the strip!!!

If the DS guy decides to spend large amounts of $$, you will never catch him with a built 450r short of sparaying large volumes of nos. Does not sound like he was to built for the first go round. Something sounds a little amiss though. DS's always run stronger on top than bottom for the 100's i have seen. Sorry i just reread. He was mainly stock the first round? If so he had about 40 hp and you should be around there give or take a few and a lot lighter.
So in the future, launch harder and keep the races as short as possible and win with skill over HP

The guy beats everyone out of the hole because he is a very skinny guy and just puts it to the wood and hangs on. He may have it geared down quite a bit because when I pass him and stay in it, he never gains ground on the top end. I continue to slightly pull on him with my 13T front sprocket. I know that I will never stand a chance if he goes to a 720 kit or something like that. Oh well, guess I better get ready for my whoopin.
