cooling the 400ex motor

Default cooling the 400ex motor

what are the different ways you guys cool ur 400ex. Im probably going to be gettin a big bore kit so im going to need cooling. any opinions

they sell metal plates that direct the airflow to hit the engine more and cool it better

OMF air shrouds/scoops ($59), and a bigger oil tank(about $250)

Proper jetting would be very important. I have an 87mm piston in mine, ride it like its stolen, and don't have any heat problems. I don't have an aftermarket tank or fins, but agree they help.

an 87mm piston is approximately a 416
