Default Electronic Shift problems on 2004 Rancher

I have read about others having trouble with the electronic shift not working..I have read where some say it could be the Angle Sensor (whatever that is)..If so, where is this located on the machine and can it be changed out without taking it in..

For those who have taken theirs in did the dealer replace it without charge..?

thanks in advance..

You need to provide more details. Like, are you under factory warranty period? A description of the symptoms you are having. Is your dash flashing on you? There are self diagnostics on the machine that should spot a faulty angle sensor.

Update..I took it in and sure enough it was the angle sensor..The technician said if it blinks three times that tells you it is the angle sensor..It was covered under warranty (6 months)..

ride safe..
