Are rubicon's well built
I now have a P700 but had a 2001 Ruby and if that ATV took the abuse as well as it took it. It's a very good ATV.
Had little problems with sensor and Tranny but my second Ruby was excelent.
Bought one which I not gonna talk about, had it for a week, the tranny wasn't working anymore cause it wasn't put properly from factory so they gave me a new one.
Good luck with yours

My two cents is the following:
I have experience with two Ruby's. My father bought one in 01 and I just bought an 04.
My Dads: Super workhorse. He retired to a cabin in Quebec and has to haul hisown wood, launch his boat etc. And the thing has more low end power than anything else I've seen. My cousin's sportsman 500 could not launch the boat (belt slipped) but the Ruby does it every week-end. It is basically built to be a workhorse.
I also found it could beet most 500's in a race. I haven't raced a Vinson though so I can't comment. It killed the SportsMan.
He has had no tranny problems at all. He doesn't have a lot of mile 1200 or so but very hard working miles.
Mine: I bought an 04 Ruby about 2 weeks ago. I had a problem with the tranny popping out of gear under load. I got it back from the dealer 2 days ago and they said the linkage was out of adjustment. Last night I tried everything to make it pop out and it worked fine. Only 30 miles on it so I can't say anything for reliability yet.
It is an awesome workhorse. No belt covers to leak and let water in and if you look at it carefully you'll it is built like a minny tank. My freinds Prairie is fast and defintely wins the fun facter but even he admits it is not as tuffly build as the Rubicon.
Anyway thats my two cents.
