Honda 250 r right for me?
Why is everyone so upset whether or not someone can ride a 250R, if it's stock, a 6 year old could ride it. Stock my 250 was boring to ride. My raptor was much more exciting until I got comfortable with the 250R. The thing to wonder about a 250R is if he is old enough and has enough extra income to support the maintanence schedules or has the ability to do mechanical work required with a 18 year old bike. Also, drag racing takes lots of skill. When you get to the point past where you just dump the clutch and hang on, there is a lot of strategy involved. Things like take off, traction control, and bike setup all are somethings that must be learned through experience. Coming from riding an auto clutch 4x4 there will be a sharp learning curve to just be able to take off without blowing away the rear tires. Lets just hope he has fun and doesn't get hurt.

I am not exaggerating, a stock 250R is very easy to ride. A stock 250R is more like a peppy blaster than a full blown racing bike. Go to Little Sahara and more than likely, you'll see a dad riding a drag Banshee and his 6-10 year old son riding a stock 250R. I think anyone can ride a stocker, but the motor responds quickly to even a small change like a pipe.
