Honda 400EX vs. Polaris 400 Sport
I read the old DirtWheels magazine article last weekend that compared these two quads with the Banshee as well. Anyway, I'm more concerned about the 400EX vs. 400 Sport in a drag. I have two friends with each quad, all stock. One is sure his 400EX will win (as am I) and of course the other says his 400 Sport will do it. I just can't see the 400 Sport pulling it off. It has no low-end to speak of (the one I rode anyway) so the EX should get it off the line. In the DW article it also said the EX had a higher top speed. Other than that, the EX is much lighter and has a clutch for letting you rev out as much as you want. Shouldn't the EX smoke the Sport?

I haven't broken down lately....and the sport is a great motor, capable of producing lots of power......Polaris is better than some guys like to give credit to, and the shee is not a single cylinder, thus as he said, the sport is the best single cylinder motor made, with the shee being the best twin....

The polaris 400 engine is a power house when modded....
I agree that engine should have never been put on a 500lb auto quad, just think if polaris put that engine in a 350lb frame and it put the power to the ground via of a 6 speed manual now that would be one he!! of a quad....
