Does anyone have any suggestions on what is best to clean polished aluminum wheels? I left some dirt on my wheels for a couple of days w/ out washing them off, and when I did clean them it seems to have left some spots on them. Soap and water doesn't seem to do the trick.

Mother's Aluminum polish does a great job. Will make them look like chrome. Available at any auto parts store.

Mothers does work well but if your wheels are bad you may want to use some superfine steel wool. The steel wool works very well and much, much faster thatn Mothers. Use the Mothers for the final chrome-like shine.

Will the fine steel wool scratch the polished finish on the wheels??

Well, If your ITPs are like the Douglas wheels, they are non-coated aluminum. No, it won't scratch them at all. Trust me you will use the steel wool and say "looks great to me" and probably not even worry about finishing up with the Mothers. Remember, this is the SUPER-fine steel wool; i'm sure regular steel wool would scratch. I bought mine at Wal-Mart. I ride in the sand a lot and that tears up the finish on the wheels. About 3 minutes per wheel and they are shiny as new.
