hey, im new to this sight but ive been ridding and racing atvs for many years now. but anyway, i am planning on buying a new honda TRX 450R as soon as i sell my 00 and 01 kawasaki mojave 250s. i was wanting to find out everything i can about it, like the 1/8 and 1/4 mile runs, HP and torque ratings...ect i remember seeing a list of the fastest stock atvs and the quadzilla 500 was 1st 1/4 in 15.09 seconds at 79 mph and the banshee was 2nd, does anyone have a clue what the 450R does aginst these quads? any info would be greatly appriciated.

 

To tell you the truth, this is no joke. A guy that i work with has a quadzilla and we raced down a straight road and i beat him by about two quad lengths. His top speed was 75 mph on his gps and i stayed 2 quad lengths at top speed. His timing might have been off because he bought a new lighting coil from ricky stator and he adjusted it after and said it ran better. We never raced after he re-timed it because it was too dark. I dont know how much that helped. He just has fmf exhaust on it, so nothing spectacular. He weighs about 100 lbs more then me tho, but from and standing still i beat him by 2 and from a second gear rolling start i beat him by about 1. We are about the same riding experience.

I had my air box lid off, 190 main with HRC kit. Today i totally gutted out my exhaust except for the packing. If you ever get yours you will see what i removed and it was a pain it the butt to remove, theres a heck of a baffle in there (stock pipe). So basically all thats left in my exhaust is a screen in the way beginning of my slip on, its a heck of alot louder then the hrc end cap to say the least.

 

ive heard that HRC kit is well worth the money, i think ill order it when i get the 450R. what do you think is the best exhaust system for the money? ive been looking at the FMF powercore 4 and the powerbomb header. i just have to wait til i sell my 00 and 01 mojave 250's. dont ask, i already had 1 mojave and i traded an old truck for the other mojave, as soon as they sell ill be riding a 450R, im waiting on the 2005s to come out.

 

FMF doesnt do a real great job with 4-stroke exhaust, all there good at is making it loud as hell with moderate power increase. Go with sparks, ESR, TC, LRD, HMF... i actually heard white bros race series is actually alright too.
