Wow, what a popular topic! I should start a 250X/300EX rally for 2001 somewhere in the midwest. No, that sounds like too much work. Ok here is the answer to the above questions that I can answer (or try to answer). #1> My 400ex carb works awesome. You will have to start with close to stock jetting. I would put a one size bigger pilot jet in right away to help with starting. I believe I am at a 160 main jet right now , but your will vary with what you have done with your motor. E-mail me for any qeustions or problems. Ok, #2> The works rear shock is a very good shock and an unbelievable difference over stock. I would reccomend this mod to anyone that wants to get a smoother ride and more rear travel.#3> The race shorty silencer. I actually have a local used connection here where I got it from and run a standard supertrapp headpipe (the same on everypipe they make for the 300ex). You should be able to get one through TC but I have no idea for a price. This brings up another point. There is no reason a person can't be budget orientated (heck my quad is the king of budget) but sometimes you just have to cough up the bucks for the right part. Did I forget anything? Probably.

I am thinking about changing my 300ex rear end into 250r (swing arm, Axle). Will it fit? If it will fit will I be able to put a stock 250r shock on?

it won't work because of the shock linkage!

300EX doesn't have any. Therefore no fit!

You should stick with the holeshots, they get much better traction than the shredders. I've had both.
