I am working on turning my almost bone stock 300ex into a real thriler. this is a list of mods I am planing on making. First I will need tires GBC shredders 20x11x9 6-ply then I will need stock 250r shocks, Works 300ex rear shock, stock 250r a arms, shock wears, pro design kill switch, maier racing fenders, Renthal Rider Bars, K&N air filter, dynojet kit, Exhaust(your choice), DG Alloy front bumper, DG Alloy nerf bars, Dura blue X-33 axle, and a Motion Pro twist Throttle. If their is any thing you think I should add or change to my list please reply.

id consider some body elses skids supertrapp is a fine pipe maier is kinda ugly (fullbore just came out with 250X/300ex plastic btw) what about 400ex arms instead? the 400ex shocks are better i hear and the stuff is also gonna be in better shape and easyer to come by and cheaper probaly
(btw if you convert to twist i'll buy your thumb with cable)

here is what i say..
forget the plastic, AMP Link, A-Arm Guards and skid plate. And the pipe choice.
Still do the 250R a-arms and shocks(you have to weld in a new tower) All Works Shocks, With Res all around. Triple Rates up Front and UltraCross rear.
Send your motor off, have TC racing or some other company Get you a 330 Kit all tricked out.
get a DuraBlue Axle.
Forget the FMF Pipe, Get a Big Gun, or Curtis Sparks, and there are 2 more than i can't remember.........
You are all set. AMP links are a joke, Stock honda plastic is better than after market(maier fits bad and isn't really shiny). A-Arm guards don't do much. If they make the A-arm stronger..it will just do more frame damage. Skid plates add weight. Personally, i wouldn't put a skid plate on anything. The stock plastic one will keeps rocks out of there. If you hit a rock that big you should be worried about more than just what the skid is protecting.
This is just what i think.

I pretty much built the quad you want. I used 400ex a-arms instead (they are cheap if you look), 1986 250R front shocks ( gonna switch to 99 400ex shocks though), I fabbed a lowering kit style front shock mount becuase I didn't want to weld a new shock mount on the frame, it would interfere with the stock plastic brackets. By the way I have Maier race plastic and it looks good but I would buy Fullbore if they make it now(that stuff rocks!) I also have a TC 330 big bore kit which I believe is the best $ that I ever spent on a motor. I have a 400ex stock carb and a supertrapp pipe with a shorty race silencer (with discs installed to be trail legal). This motor works awesome with 250R rear Ohtsu 20 inch tires and I usually run 14/36 or 14/37 gearing. It has as much HP as a stock 400ex and definitely more bottom end. As far as the other stuff I would leave the amp link alone and try to get a rear axle and some sort of aftermarket rear shock as well ( I have a durablue and a works). E-mail me for any questions and check out my ride.
