How reliable is the 500 ex kit?

 

i didnt even know there was a 500ex kit. let me know how that goes

 

Yea there is a 500ex kit, It was on the cover on one of the dirtwheels mags. never got the issue. I was kinda phreaked out too, check it out the publication from dirtwheels on this. http://www.hi-torque.com/showproduct...&category_id=1

 

how much money does this cost, and how much more HP do u get.... is it worth it to get it?

mickey dunlap makes a 500 kit. i think it is around $900 but i could be totally off. i don't remember exactly. his oil cooler is supposed to be the best on the market for the price. it supposed to cool the bike 40 - 50 degrees. also, it brings the cool oil up onto the cam and rockers which is good. the only problem is you need to drill and tap into the head cover. however, it is only a litle over $100. not bad for the price.

im pretty sure the 500ex (or 505ex) motor is usually a 465 big bore, matched with a stroker crank and i think it adds somewhere around 8 hp.

 

Thats what I thought, I'm going to look more into tonight on the net and find some tests.

some reason doesnt really seam worth it :-/
