Thanks for the info, and thanks for the grammer lessons.

But, I thought this was an ATV forum, not english forum or any other areas of education people might be lacking in. But thank you all for your thoughts.

For accurate communication, proper English is required. Otherwise, your post is left open to interpretation that may be correct or incorrect. Misspelled words and incorrect punctuation may lead a person to believe that the writer's credibility on a particular subject is lacking if they can't form a complete sentence.

My point was, 6 of the responses to my post were about proper grammar. I was hoping to read some valuable information that I could use to help with my request / question. Instead, I received basically the equivalent of junk mail when I went to read the responses to my post.

Thank you though, for taking the time to respond.

People who supposedly can spell and use proper grammar should be able to decipher what someone is trying to say, even if it's not perfect. As long as you get the point accross. Since we have some spell checkers here, grammar is spelled with an A. Schtick, hopefully you will get some useful info. from someone...seeya.

As far as Honda's position on synthetics with the Rubicon:
I got a letter from them stating that "they would not recommend it at this time." As to why, there was not any further narrative. Mobil 1 makes a synthetic that is made for motorcycles with viscous clutches. I run in my Honda 300. It works great. If I were to run one, I would probably chose it. It is around $8.00/quart. Honda and the magazines are very leary of comments on synthetic oil.

Thanks! I will stick with the recommended oil for now and just change oil weights in accordance with outside temperature.

Does anyone know if Honda's 20W50 is recommended for summertime use in the Rubicon?

I plan to use synthetic oil in my new Rubicon at the first oil change. Synthetic oil is not a magic formula,it meets the standards of petroleum oil for normal operation but far exceeds it on high and low temperature extremes.I have used synthetic in all my vehicles for the last ten years and except for the price its great.I will use it in the Rubicon without any fear.
