What is the future of the 250R??

GLIMP, your opinion is sheltered. Don't take offense to that, but its true if that is what you think. But i think you might have a point in the sense that they are fading in your area. Maybe that is what the future will be like everywhere. The 250R atc's are burning strong over here. I know countless people in my area that own these trikes and prefer them over anything else. Parts are still available and only a few OE items have been discontinued and are lost forever.
Its easy to see what will happen to the 250r. Look at these 60's cars that people still love to build. Sure there are cars like the new vettes and mustangs that get comparibly excellent MPG/power/reliability, but people still build them. I'd kill any of you for a 67 Nova with a 572 in it. i dont think they are still king of the hill. look at all of the recent races and gnccs. the 250rs and banshees have nothing on the new 450s. but if its king of the hill as in hill climb well then ill just hush up.

There are always going to be people out there that have 2 strokes even if all the parts on them are custom one-off parts that came from a local machining shop. They are going to become very very hot collectors items just like all the classic cars of yesteryear. And I will always be one to love and respect a great 2 stroke comming down the road.

the 250R and all the other classics will be just like all the classic muscle cars. they will keep going up in value, the 250R is one of the greatest race quads ever and nothing can ever change that.
it kills me to see a 250R, tecate, quadzilla, ect or any old muscle car rusting away in a junk yard.
RESTORE EM!!!... DONT CRUSH EM!!!

ATC's are dead? News to me! I have a 85 atc 250r and 85 atc 350x and prefer them to my 400ex. They are not the only ones still running strong here on the east coast. I have many local friends with ATC's yamah 3 wheelers and Kawasaki Tecates. No the 250r will always have a place and I am a fan and hope the price comes down on an 88 250r so I can get one that looks stock and not all fagged out to race! I like the closer to stock look with the fenders not all cut down and without the funny looking 18 in rear tires and 20 in fronts. I need only aftermarket exhaust and a better carb. You just have to love that 2stroke power and exhaust note!
