Rincon vs. Rubicon for trails, Which one?? Help
#1
My brother is getting the new Kodiak 450 w/ IRS later on this year so I need something that will keep up with him. He now has an AC250 w/ IRS and I have a recon. I am kind of tired of him blowing me away on almost all of our trails cause his floats over the bumps and mine cracks and jumps with every little stick in the road, I was wanting to get some opinions on if the Rubicon will be smooth enough and have enough pep to keep up w/ another IRS or if the sacrifice of engine breaking almost everywhere around here would be worth it. I have never rode either one of them so I have no personal experience w/ either.
So please help me if you can cause I could use the help.

if your willing to send the extra $$$$$$$$$$$$ get the Rincon by far it has enough power and the irs is a great feature. with this atv no having as much low end tourq for pulling and things it will be a perfect trail riding machine. great for wheelies too

Another big factor is that I just had the axel and swing arm bearings replaced about a year ago and already I can here an audible pop and crack from the axel when I hit a small log or a large rock, I know this sound unusial but it is because I am trying to go too fast and I don't want this to hapen again cause I did not opt for irs. The way I see it I can speending the extra money up front instead of money down the road to fix a problem that is going to keep reacuring.

Yeah well if it wasent for my need for speed I would not mind riding a tank because it could go anywhere, and I am tired of having to go slow cause the trail is just the least bit bump
What is the fastest rolling wheelie anybody has done, you know like rolling down the trail and popping a wheelie, cause on my recon you almost have to be stoped or going up a hill in first gear to bring the front end up.

They are both good machines. If you have the money and will not be going on really steep and technically demanding trails, the RIncon is the only way to go. Without the Engine braking or alow gear, it is hard to physically manipulate the big heavy machine while trying keep your hand and/or foot on the brakes. Other than that, I will never give up my Rincon for trail riding. I can ride all weekend and feel gret when I get up the next morning. The suspension is better than a cadillac. I love it.
Good Luck

Rincon all the way for trail riding. My friends Polaris 700 EFI doesn't hold a candle to me in the trails. He just CAN'T keep up, the Sportsman is just way too tippy to take the tight corners.
