what is a good rear tire for the 400ex. i do mostly woods and trails but also some tracks. I was thinking an 18 or 19 inch tire. I also have about a $175 budget for the package so keep that in mind

The new ITP Holeshot H-D! It is a 20", but I bet you can use the extra clearance over an 18 or 19".

a smaller tire gets you more acceleration right? And how much does the new H-D cost

yes smaller tires will give you a lil more acceleration but remember you will also loose top end. not to mention you loose ground clearance. you can always change spocket sizes as well. if you still have the stock rims and they are not bent i would keep them because stock rims are light and strong. i like my holeshot xcr's very much. with shipping/tax/and price of tires i got two tires for 162 out of rockymountain. my buddy runs maxxis razr rear tires on his ex. they are a good tire but they seem to wear out quite fast and are heavier than most holeshot models. i think the razr's hook up well in soft terrain and mud good tho. also the holeshot xcr's are 6ply and lower profile. good luck.

I ordered the new Holeshot HD's. If you read the August issue of Dirt Wheels, they got great reviews. I ordered mine a month ago, but apparently they're just coming out finally. Rocky Mountain told me they'd be out the middle of July. They weren't any more than the XCT's or XCR's.
I can't wait to get mine!

Change your gearing if you need more low end!

You can get these tires out of Tread Depot:
Razar:
20-11-9: $45 each
20-11-9 6ply:$48
22-11-9: $49
Shredder:
20-11-9:$41
Their phone# is: 1-888-421-8437
Web: treadepot.com
I ordered tires from them, quick service by UPS. Shiping was $12 for each tire. I hope this helps.
I don't know much about these tires but is a good price. Good luck.

you should check out some dirt devils. my cousin have them on his 400EX and they work sweet. i'm not too sure about how they'll work on the track, all we have around here is woods and trails. my brother is also running them on his 350X and we have a set of them to put on the foreman. oh, and the neighbor has them on his recon. good tires, if they suit you.
