Default '02 Foreman Question

A friend of mine has a 02 Foreman es and whan he rides and starts to downshift it will not drop gears most of the time he has to rock it back into the right gear. And is also having problems with the speedometer not working.
Could something be wrong with the ESP he only has about 600 miles on it.
Anyone with suggestions?

Check to see if he still has warranty on it. I bought Full warranty on my 2002 Forman just in case, only used it once last to to replace front wheel bearings.

Default '02 Foreman Question

Its still a constant mesh tranny, so if hes at a standstill, it will have shifting problems. The quad will shift much more reliably if its moving.
If it still doesnt shift good....check the battery with a load test. Change the oil and do a clutch adjustment.
If the odometer works but speedo doesnt, check for blown fuses, and corrorded connections, and run down battery.

It will not shift when slowing down. And the battery is fine. The odometer on the display will show nothing while moving then will work again like it shoud..it's sparrattic. And when, for example, he takes off he could be in 3rd but will read he's in 4th or fith...
Strange...ahhh to hell with it it's his problem I'll let him deal with it. The thing still works....
