Hmmm...mine sounds more like a loud "click". I don't know if I'm gonna need some type of lubricant. I think I'm gonna have to replace some parts. It only does it every now and then, not all the time. Then again, the bike is 16yrs. old, things might just be worn.

my brother has a 86 he got it used in 87 it is a great machine it run as good now as it did when he got it in 87. tell your uncle to be careful this machine has a strait axle front end and will flip very easy on unleval terrian.

You have to go out and buy this stuff called "Limited Slip Differential" fluid. You can buy it from any car dealership, their stuff is the best. I had a noisy front differential and put a bottle of this stuff in along with Differential oil and the noise disappeared immediately.
