BUB, urgent message!!
I just took it to the Honda shop and let them listen to it. He immediately said it was the rod. So, basically $310 for parts and $350 for labor. Possibly $100 more because he said it would have to be bored out.
NICE. So, I need a second opinion ASAP, bub!!
Call or email.

Well, after getting the bad news from the Honda shop that it was a loose rod, I let a couple of guys listen to it, and they said "Noway!" the clicking is in the top part of the motor. So, I took it to another cycle shop. He tore into it, and found that it needs bored out, and a new piston, new cam chain, and the clicking was some kind of pin that was broken. It's going to cost around $250. Not $819 like the Honda shop quoted me. BIG DIFFERENCE!!
I think the Honda shop saw $$ when the saw a female bringing in a 4-wheeler for repair. I'm glad I didn't leave it with them, and got some other opinions.
So, basically, that noise could have been any number of things, but it took tearing it apart to really find out what it was.
Can't wait to get it back so my son and I can hit the trails!!!
