This is a stupid question to many of you, I know, but please spare me just this once if you plan on sending me a nasty reply. Is the gear range on a 400EX 1 down and 4 up like a dirtbike or 5 up from neutral like an auto-clutch utility?

 

it is like a dirtbike. neutral is between 1st and 2nd.
