This question is just out of curiosity, so if it doesn't get answered it's no big deal. Why is it that you shift down to get into first gear on most sport quads?

its pry so when u keep clickin' down u dont hit neutral...it would happen to me all the time when i was racin' my 250ex..then i would have to keep track of my gears so i WOULDNT click it down to neutral..but i keep track of my gears throughout the track now anyways..
