I have. I like both quads for different reasons. I bought the 450R because of what I wanted it to do. They are quite different machines.....

 

they are pretty close in a race it jus depends on the rider

 

All the high-end quads are pretty close in a drag race, bike length or two depending on rider ability. What they do on the track or trail is a whole lot different story, you got to look at what kind of riding you will be doing, in the saddle, or on the keyboard. This is the oldest kind of crap on this forum, a 450r WILL beat a 660 in a drag all things equal. The 450r is the only quad to come out that makes me think about trading in my ds-650, Honda didn't make anything worth having in 00, that goes for yamaha too.

y does everyone fight? i have a raptor and its great. it has the power where you need it, when you need it. i ride mostly fast trails and sand pits. for me it is the best quad. i also drag alot with people i meet to c what the diffrence in quads is. i have raced moth 450's (the yfz was up a hill) and i got to tell you, for 450's they go like ****. but when i raced the 450 up a hill i had the advantage because of monster torque. if all i did all day, was mx and freestyle, i would have either one of the 450's because both of them are sweet. but that isnt what i do, just like alot of people just ride mx so they have 450's.

yes I have heard of a banshee so what? They don't have the suspension of a ds, when you go far from home you have to carry oil with you on the quad, your doing a lot of shifting to ride in the woods, and the seating arrangement for me is way too cramped. I ride a lot of miles and I want a reliable quad thats fun to ride, in 00 the ds was the choice, today I would have to include the 450s from yam and honda, although Ive heard people have trouble with both at times, some of that has to be self inflicted, both of these companies make good quads.

 

this makes alot of sense because i called my dealership (and they know what they are talking about they are pretty much all sponsored racers) and they said that a raptor will beat a yfz450 in a drag race overall topspeed and it has more hp. and its also a honda dealer so they wouldnt lie about the 450r and say its bad. they said that a yfz450 will beat a 450r by like 3 mph so where is the logic that a 450r can beat a raptor? lets get real

 

Look i own a rappy and the yfz, the raptor is modded, but it is difficult to keep up with the 450's specially my bros. Yfz(in a Drag). I think the yfz is faster than the 450r too.
