70 chain problems

Default 70 chain problems

Hi I'm new to the site and was wondering if anyone knew how to tighten the chain on a 1986 honda 70. It is driving me crazy because I cant find any way for adjustment . any info would be greatly appreiciated.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]

Default 70 chain problems

The following is how the early 1980's model 70's and 110's worked so it's probably the same: Look on the right side back behind the footpeg. There should be a lever arm with one end slotted. It rotates a splined shaft though to the left side that has an idler sprocket on it. Loosen the nut over the slot. Pull the rubber plug on the left side of the chain cover to inspect, then pivot the little lever while checking the chain. Re-tighten.
