My friends banshee goes 55 in 300 ft and I would like to be able to hang with him...but I expect 55 isnt possible on a stock bore 250.
What do stock R's pull?
Is it possible to get enough power out of a stock bore 250? How much power would it take? 250R's are only 290 pounds so it doesnt seem like it would take near as much.
What would I need to go 50?

50 mph on stock bore can be done pretty easily once you find a good shop or person how knows how to port that engine right, and match it up with a good carb and pipe. The rest will be in the set-up. Your buddy will then be playing catch up to you.

My dad has a machine shop and knows a lot about engines, he was gonna port our 580 but found out its stock porting was so overboard it wasnt worth it. Think he could do any good?
I would relaly have to show him Im serious about modding it though, at this point whenever i talk about performance he says it runs good enough. He probably just says that cuz he has to help me with everything haha.

What are you current mods?
Maybe Debeechman will see this thread and reply. He knows how to make those R's fly!! I am sure he can tell you a couple things to do on your stock head that will make a difference. Set-up is key in 300ft. you can take alot of weight off that machine still, and with a proper suspension set-up you could be very quick, provided you are a decent rider.

I hear there is a 295 kit that is just a resleeve to the stock jug. Is this true or am I not understanding this right...
Our 580 blows all the time and we always have to bore and resleeve it, would this be any different to do?

porting can be around 200 bucks. porting IMO is your best bet. remove your cylinder and have it ported. you also need to keep in mind that your bike is a trike and will need to be setup properly to handle holeshots when it gets any kind of traction as with any bike for that matter making anykind of power and launching hard. aftermarket swing arm alone will cost you more than any porting job unless the swing arm is used

Yeah I dont want a swingarm, I dont wanna get to serious.
Im actually thinkin about gettin a esr 310 Kit eventually, 38mm carb, esr trx5 pipe, some kinda aftermarket airbox
but that 310 kit will be a while away...
how much power can you get outta a 310R?
