Default chain question does this seem right?

hey, whats up. i have a 400ex and i had to take a link out of my chain, actually i ended up taking out 2 links. now the little mark on the swingarm, i remember it used to line up with the mark on the chain adjuster. as i kept tightning the chain the marks grew away from each other, i know this is o,k but my little mark on my chain adjuster is like at the bottom. its like a half a turn from the mark on the swingarm, its pointed faceing the ground. is this all right? is it safe for me to drive it like this way?thanks.

If the chain is tight enough, yeah its fine. If you pulled 2 pins out to get it tight your chain is wore out and is about to break. Buy a new chain, that is alot less then an engine case when your chain wraps around the sprocket 3 times. I have done what you did and have a broken 300ex left engine case with a hole in it to prove it.

A cheap chain is like $35.
